Leanne Nettles, LMFT
In the U.S., the population of mixed-race individuals is higher than ever before, and continuing to grow exponentially. When working with this population, therapists may encounter some unique challenges around a client’s personal and social identity development. As a continuation of the previous LA-CAMFT workshop, “What Are You?” Considerations for Therapy with Mixed-Race Clients, this presentation will highlight additional history and themes of mixed-race identity development, as well as clinical applications.
Presenter:
Leanne Nettles, LMFT, is passionate toward working with disenfranchised communities. She currently works as a Clinical Supervisor at D’Veal Family and Youth Services, an Adjunct Professor at Pacific Oaks College, and is the President-Elect of LA-CAMFT. As a mixed-race person, Leanne hopes to improve understanding and culturally-competent therapeutic practice with mixed-race individuals and families.
