Nazila Amighi, LMFT

Nazila Amighi is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in West Los Angeles. She graduated with a Master’s Degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and interned in the Postmodern Program at Phillips Graduate Institute and in Private Practice. She focuses on working with adults, teens, couples, and families employing Narrative Therapy. She also brings training in Encounter-centered Couples Therapy, Trauma Resiliency Model, Emotionally Focused couples Therapy. She also is trained in Clinical Aggression Replacement Training by County of Los Angeles Probation Department for working with incarcerated adolescents at Camp Gonzales and Camp Miller, and is a certified premarital counselor through Prepare/Enrich. She also Co-facilitated court-referred anger management group at Phillips Graduate Institute Counseling Center for over a year and a half.

Her expertise comes is working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, life transitions, relationship issues, LGBT challenges, trauma, loss and grief. She is friendly, warm, intuitive, inviting, and brings endless passion to her work.

Nazila came to the United States 35 years ago from Iran. This experience helps her to better understand the uniqueness and diversity of her clients, and to better recognize and work with the challenges clients face as they transition both in terms of language and culture. She, herself, is fluent in English and Farsi. She is available for clinical consultation to other therapists trying to navigate cross-cultural issues.
