Membership Chair, LA-CAMFT
It’s hard to believe that we’ve passed the midpoint of 2017. Our monthly networking meetings continue to be dynamic. Our Special Interest Groups (SIGS) continue to thrive and Membership continues to grow. A humongous warm welcome to recent new and renewing members: Kathryn Ashe, Lauren Barker, Donna Benjamin, Julie Carmen, Marni Glick, William Kavanagh, Steve Lehrman, Amy McManus, Lorna Mouton Riff, Catalina Pacheco, Susan Rempel, JB Rizzo, Tara Shakti, and Max August! In other membership news, Erik Anderson recently moved here from New York. He is a Jujitsu expert and a very interesting clinician. Member Dr. Lisa Frankel is offering a free peer supervision group. She can be contacted at email@example.com. We are looking forward to an equally exciting and dynamic second half of 2017.
I am thrilled to bring to the Spotlight this month our past president, Jonathan Flier. Jonathan was hugely responsible for the rebirth of our LA-CAMFT organization in 2009 and was our president for seven years! He tells the story in this profile. In addition to his past efforts on our behalf, Jonathan currently serves as an at-large Board member of the state CAMFT chapter, as well as ex-officio Board member with us. He is a glowing example of the notion that when you give, you get back in return. As part of Jonathan’s “membership with benefits” (as he describes it), he met his wife, Darlene Basch, (also a Board member) during his service to LA-CAMFT. I know you will enjoy his story.
