Expressive Arts SIG Update

Randi Gottlieb
President, LA-CAMFT

On April 24th Expressive Arts SIG Co-chair Hilary Kern and leadership team member Michelle Bee led the ExArts SIG in a heartfelt ritual bidding farewell to Lori Chaikin and honoring her for her nurturing mentorship of their professional development and creativity as Expressive Arts therapists Under Lori’s tutelage, the group has formed a cohesive leadership team, sponsored a successful workshop on use of dance and movement in clinical practice, and is now poised to expand its capacity to enrich the LA-CAMFT therapy community by increasing the number of expressive arts’ workshops offered to our membership! At the close of the ritual, Lori passed the baton of ExArts SIG leadership to the new Co-Chairs, Hilary and Michelle, by symbolically lighting their candles with hers. I add my personal gratitude to Lori for her gifted contribution to LA-CAMFT and my warm welcome (and thanks) to Hilary and Michelle for carrying on the leadership of this most relevant and creative SIG.
