55-Minute Presentation
The Empowerment Space:
Addressing Bullying with Families
Danielle Matthew, LMFT

What are the most common types of bullying? How can we identify the bullying risk factors and signs in young people? What are some ways caring adults can respond to children being bullied? This presentation will include a discussion about the prevalence and impact of bullying, as well as how clinicians can help families address it. It will cover current treatment options, programs, and resources available to clinicians, parents, and others in the community who work with children.

After this presentation, participants will be better able to:

  1. Define and describe the 4 main types of bullying.
  2. List current available resources for bully prevention and response.
  3. Utilize strategies to address bullying with family and school involvement.

Danielle Matthew, LMFT, treats bully victims and their families with The Empowerment Space Bullying Therapy Program in Los Angeles. Author of the Amazon Best-Seller, How to Help Your Child Cope, Communicate and Conquer Bullying, Danielle educates families and other caring adults about the bullying epidemic.
