December Member Highlight: Rena Jacobs

Rena Jacobs
Rena Jacobs, M.S. just submitted her application for MFT licensure! She celebrated this momentous occasion by immediately enrolling in a study program for the law & ethics and clinical exams. When she isn’t jumping for joy and biting her nails in terror, she is providing therapy to millennial men at her private practice in Beverly Hills, and volunteering as the Communications Chair for LA-CAMFT.

As Communications Chair, Rena led the overhaul of LA-CAMFT’s brand, including the new logo design and website, in addition to improving e-mail communications. She worked to create a stronger in-person community AND virtual community by launching the LA-CAMFT Facebook group with Lynne Biehl and the e-bulletin, Voices, with editor Judith Weigle. Rena believes strongly in the community, connection, and resources that LA-CAMFT provides to its members. Her efforts were a joint collaboration with LA-CAMFT’s board and leadership team as well as LA-CAMFT’s new graphic designer/webmaster, Laurel Jones.

Inspired by their rebranding efforts for LA-CAMFT, Rena and Laurel deepened their partnership by recently launching Attuned Events, a website dedicated to therapy workshops and events in the Los Angeles area. For therapists hosting their own workshops, the website www.AttunedEvents.com is designed specifically for this reason. Or for therapists looking to expand their clinical skills by attending workshops, the calendar of events on AttunedEvents.com is available to access events in targeted areas. Attuned Event’s goal is to help therapists and organizations grow their businesses while providing a helpful, efficient service to those seeking CEUs.

Rena loves being a part of LA-CAMFT’s board and has met incredible people through her volunteer efforts. She’s treasured the opportunity to combine her therapeutic interests with technology obsession! Please contact her at communications@lacamft.org if you have any questions about millennials, the LA-CAMFT website, volunteering, or if you have a good joke that will get her through the next two months of studying!
