Advocacy Committee
NEXT MEETING:
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2010
at The Southern California Counseling Center
3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Thinking about the bigger picture? We are too! The Advocacy Committee of LA-CAMFT serves as the social and political liaison between our local chapter and the larger community. We keep our eyes on legislative and social justice issues that concern MFTs in Los Angeles, and make sure the members and board of LA-CAMFT are up-to-date on new bills that affect their work professionally.
Additionally, we establish and maintain relationships with other institutions in and around Los Angeles to address community issues that need our attention. We are constantly on the lookout for opportunities to influence the Los Angeles community in matters of marriage and family health. We work to position ourselves strategically to influence mental health law both in Los Angeles and in California.
Interested in joining us? We’d love to have you! Our meetings are held monthly on Friday afternoons at the Southern California Counseling Center. Interest in politics, government, social justice, and the larger community is a must! Contact Angela Kahn for more information at akmft@yahoo.com. Can’t wait to meet you!
